Vineyard on Sunday

Creating a place to belong...

Disclaimer

If you are a committed follower of Christ looking for a new church, something may be wrong.  We are committed to the entire church of Jesus Christ and to that church being a force that moves the Kingdom of God forward as Jesus taught.  We feel that transfer growth (moving from one Christian church to another) neither builds the church nor advances the Kingdom.  Even more important to your spiritual health, it may be rooted in poor motives, ill will or emotional immaturity.  On the other hand, it could be God moving you on to the next step in your journey.  To find the source of your desire for change, I want to strongly encourage you to read, meditate, pray through and respond to the following words of Jesus before you make any decisions.

Jesus outlines the biblical process for dealing with broken relational commitments or unmet expectations in Matthew 18:15-16 in 4 Steps.

4 Steps

1.  "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you."

The first step in mending broken relational commitments is to go face-to-face to the person who has hurt you.

2.  "But if he will not listen, take one or two others along"

The second step in restoring unity is to bring an understanding, unbiased, mediator to help.

3.  "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church."

Only after personal efforts have been exhausted is the church to get involved in the restoration process.

4.  "If he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would of pagan or a tax collector."

This does not mean to reject, rather to entreat with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
