2010 Projects Include On-site work details, day trips with the children, serving breakfast to children in Tijuana, building a home in La Mision, currently discussing a theatre production for the children to present at the church.
About the Door of Faith Orphanage Door of Faith Orphanage provides a strong base for family, education and community service for over 100 children in Baja, Mexico. Since 1959 the Orphanage has continued to grow and expand, becoming a base for other ministries and outreaches. Many of the kids at DOFO are not true orphans, as most have parents living nearby who are either overwhelmed with the number of children and cannot afford them or are too addicted to care for them. Often siblings will be split up, some at home and others at the orphanage. This puts newborns in dire circumstances and due to the cost and energy required to care for infants, there are very few options for care. Last year, the Vineyard Church of Campbell County helped to build a 15 bed nursery and in 2008 we helped to build a house for a family in need. For more information about DOFO, visit www.dofo.org. |
